PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis): Preimplantation diagnostic techniques used to detect a serious genetic disease in an embryo produced in vitro. The disease in question is usually a monogenic (single-gene) disorder.  ●  PGD tests have been permitted in Switzerland since the revised Reproductive Medicine Act entered into force on 1 September 2017.  ●  PGT-M: Preimplantation genetic testing for monogenic disorders.  ●  PGT-SR: Preimplantation genetic testing for chromosome structural rearrangements.
